VBS

Whew!! Last week was VBS. Enough said right? It was actually VBS for my neighbor's church. My plan was to take Sarah Mae and Samuel and help my friend Adrienne a few days. Well, my plan and God's plan were different. The Thursday before VBS started Adrienne let me know that they needed a teacher for the 5 & 6 year old class. So, without too much hesitation I agreed. I went from the shallow end, just hangin out, helping here and there to the deep end, being in charge of TEN 5 & 6 year olds. And the best part was that one of those 6yr olds was my sweet Sarah Mae. We arrived at the church everyday around 8am and stayed until about 12:30pm. It was a packed schedule of activities to keep the little youngins busy. The kids learned some new songs, made some friends and best of all they both learned a bible verse!
Hebrews 12:1-2 (with hand motions). There is nothing better than to see your kids learn God's Word. Mommy learned some new things too. Like, how much I appreciate being a stay-at-home mom. HELLO! It was not easy getting everyone ready every morning (esp. the baby), having to be somewhere kind of early, then leaving the baby in the nursery for 4 hours. So, if you are a working mom who has to do that EVERY morning, hats off to you!! I am reminded that being a stay-at-home, while a financial strain is a BLESSING!!! And, I should never take it for granted.
It was a long week but I am glad they had fun and learned more about Jesus.

craft time (i think it is so cute how he holds his marker)

its important to stick out your tongue when you color

samuel loves to sing and dance (dance!! did someone say dance in the church)

love this picture of my sweet girl praising Jesus!!

Last Day of School

Today was the last day of Kindergarten for Miss Sarah Mae. :( What a great year we had!! I can remember this time last year how stressed I was wondering what to expect. God has once again proven faithful to answer all my prayers and concerns. We love Sarah Mae's school and her teachers. She was so excited to start school and LOVED every minute of it. What a blessing! She cried the last day, she did not want to leave her teachers.
It is amazing to see how much she has learned and how much she has matured. I was scared to death the first week watching her walk off to her class. Now I put her on the bus each morning and wave as she rides off. Thats right, she rides the bus! I was one of those who said she would NEVER ride the bus. It ended up working out better and I got to know her bus driver. She is such a sweet lady and took great care of Sarah Mae. Another answer to prayer. God hears every prayer. He is interested in EVERY area of our lives. We love Ms. Jenny!
Sarah Mae was in a combined class with two teachers. It worked out great. She was given a lot of one on one time with each teacher. I could not have picked a better match for Sarah Mae. Another HUGE answer to prayer - wonderful teachers!
I prayed for her teachers before I knew their names. I also prayed that God would give me opportunities to minister to them. He did! We have a mission field where ever we are! All we have to do is ask, listen and then be obedient.
After Sarah Mae started school I once again realized how fast this time goes by. I want to treasure every moment and never take for granted what God has given me. Its funny how once she started school I truly started to appreciate being a stay-at-home mom. What a blessing! Its easy to think what we do doesn't matter, but it does! As my sweet mom says, "honey you are raising those kids to love Jesus, you are building the Kingdom!!!!
I better go to bed, so I am rested for my little warriors in the morning.

Clarence & Kathryn

We got a nice treat! A visit from the newlyweds, my nephew and his sweet wife. The kids LOVED having them here. Samuel enjoyed playing baseball with Clarence and Sarah Mae loved on Kathryn. They are a precious couple. It was fun to be around newlyweds. They were all smiles and loving on each other. How cute. I am so thankful that Clarence has a sweet godly wife. Clarence went to work with Paul one of the days while me, the boys, Kathryn and Maw Maw went to the Town Center. And, one of the best parts of the trip...
Maw Maw!!! They surprised us and brought my mom. What a great surprise! It was so nice having my mommy here for a week. The kids love their Maw Maw. We are blessed!
