David Jasper's 1st B-day

We celebrated David Jasper's 1st Birthday today. What a fun day it was. Our theme was rubber duckies. Rubber ducky you're the one, David Jasper is turning One! We found all the yellow duckys we could and decorated the house. It was a fun theme.
We started the day with breakfast and then got to work on David's "get it all over you" cake. A friend made the cake we ate, and the kids and I made David's cake. I decided since David got to stick his hands all in his cake, I would let Sarah Mae and Samuel make one that they could stick their hands in.
Our plan was to have the party outside. A sweet friend let us borrow her bounce house. Paul set the backyard up so nice. The party started at 5:30pm and at aprox. 5:50pm it began to rain, and rain hard! So, we had to move the party inside. Now, I am not complaining, but my house is not that big. So, with 17 adults and 14 children, it can get crowded. Samuel quickly reminded everyone that it was ok that it was raining because God made the rain. And Sarah Mae added, "and the plants need rain to grow." Ok,so we found the positive and went with the flow.
I had really been looking forward to this day as a way to celebrate my sweet baby boy. I had a lot of problems while I was pregnant with him. I was so relieved once he got here and we was healthy. It is easy to take things for granted and I want to ALWAYS be thankful for his little life and give God all the glory. And to think we were done with two children!!! What a blessing he is in our lives. Once you have three, whats one more???

If I were to write a profile on David Jasper it would read...

Favorite Person - Paul (he will NEVER come to me once Paul is holding him) What is it with my boys? Once I quit nursing them, they only want their daddy. I guess they only want me for my on-board feeding system. Oh well, its cute and it makes Paul feel loved.
Favorite Toy - blue bunny that he sleeps with
Favorite Food - cheerios
Loves to walk around the house "talking" to us; loves to take a bath; smiles ALL the time and loves kisses
Wakes up happy
Likes to cuddle
Completely spoiled by everyone in the house. We love our baby boy!!!

Shower Party

So, the other day I going to take a shower. I turned the water on, left the door open (big mistake) and this is what I found...

David Jasper had crawled into the shower, fully clothed, and proceeded to have a great time!

Sometimes when your day throws you a surprise its best to go get your camera!

Paul

Ok, so I feel guilty. I just received an email from a friend and she mentioned that there are no pictures of Paul on our blog. How awful of me!! I am the worst wife ever. Now, if you have spent any time around me you know that I LOVE me some Paul Beasley!! Hello! He fine! He mine! He is a wonderful husband, dad, and best friend.
This is the guy who does more than his share around the house. Our motto is "we are a team" We are not perfect but we are perfect for each other!!
So dear husband I LOVE YOU!

Virginia

We had a great visit with my mom and dad. The kids had so much fun and it was so nice to watch mom and dad love on their grandkids. I love it when people love my kids. :)
Our events included a visit to the downtown Roanoke City Market;
church on Sunday (my mom is a great sunday school teacher);
the zoo on Monday; a water park on Tuesday; a movie on Wednesday;
a trip to the doctor, then the hospital via ambulance on thrusday; some rest and a visit with cousins on friday; amazement square (in Lynchburg) on Saturday;
and then home on Sunday. Whew!!! What a week! It was packed and it was fun (other than the hospital visit). That was scary! We thought she was going to have to have her appendex removed. They did a bunch of tests and ruled that out. Everything turned out ok. God is good. She is recovering.

Enjoy the pictures...

July 4th with Maw Maw & Paw Paw

We traveled to Virgina on the 4th to visit my sweet parents. Thats 10 hours in the car with three precious, wonderful, obedient, children, ages 6,4, and 11 months! Now thats freedom. It was a good trip, they actually do really well in the car. After a long ride in the car we celebrated the 4th in my parents backyard. And their backyard looks like a postcard.
Stay tuned for more photos from the big trip...
