Costume at Church

Samuel is into Bible Man these days. The videos are really geared for older kids but he seems to get the message. The acting is completely cheesy, but the message is biblical so I am not opposed. He insisted on wearing his Bible Man cape and mask to church. "Pick your battles and don't worry about what other parents think," is usually my motto. Sometimes as moms we have to let our kids pick out their clothes, fix their own hair, etc... Afterall we are trying to raise responsible, independent adults.

100th Day of School & Penguin Project

It was the 100th day of school and the 1st grade classes did a fashion show. The kids had to decorate a hat or shirt with 100 items of the same thing. Being all girl SM chose a pink shirt and we glued on 100 hearts of different sizes and different shades of pink. She is pretty creative. And a cute model.

This is the penguin project. She chose the "little penguin" also called the blue penguin. We learned some interesting facts about Mr. Penguin. He is the smallest of the penguins and he lives in Australia. He is also referred to as the fairy penguin, probably the reason she chose him.
For info on this cute creature...

National Championship Game

THE Man!
We got the kids to bed on time and enjoyed watching the National Championship Game. I am not a gator fan, but I am a Tebow fan. That kid is an awesome man of God. What a testimony he has for Christ! There is nothing greater than to see your children use their talents to honor Christ.
And by the way, that is a photo of the TV. What did we do before HD?

The Accident

we took the patient out

I got the call about 7:30am. I answer the phone, the first thing Paul says, "I'm okay, but I got into a little accident this morning." So why are you at the hospital if you are ok??? It was about 5:30am, dark outside, on his way to work and Paul hit a deer while riding his motorcycle. Mr. deer came out of nowhere and surprised Paul. Mr. deer was DRT, that is an official law enforcement term that stands for, Dead Right There. Paul drug himself out of the road, called in his accident on his police radio and waited for help.
God watched over him every second. The accident could have been so much worse. We are so thankful that he is A. ALIVE and B. No permanent injuries. He had a broken ankle, a bruised kidney (and a bunch of kidney stones) and some road rash. God's hand was on every detail of the accident and the recovery. We have been in and out of the hospital, its been a rough few weeks, but God ALWAYS provides. My mother-in-law helped us out so much with the kids. What a blessing she has been. I have so much to be thankful for!
Paul is on the road to recovery and doing great.

Christmas Eve

Our Christmas Eve was wonderful. We went to the Christmas Eve Service at our church. WOW!!! I am not exaggerating when I say, that was the most amazing christmas eve service I have ever been to. It was so worshipful. The music was incredible, Pastor Stovall's message was great and most importantly people were saved! I never realized how worshipful christmas music can be. Paul's parents joined us and that so nice. We went to their house after for dinner and christmas celebration. Once we got home the kids put on their matching PJs and put out cookies and milk for santa and carrots for the reindeer. They were so excited to go so sleep so santa could come!!

No Clothes

I could not resist! Some things happen with your kids and you have two reactions... 1)get mad or 2)get your camera. I chose option 2. David Jasper is not too fond of clothes. I was in the process of changing his clothes and he managed to get outside in his diaper. By the time I got to him, this was the scene.
And of course Samuel wanted to join in the fun. Then there is cute Sarah Mae in her dress. Honestly, this is reality for my kids. If they had their choice of outfits each day, this would be it!
p.s. this picture was taken the day before Christmas Eve!! It was very warm outside.
